Anesthesia Options

Comfortable Care With Safe Anesthesia

We care about the health and safety of every patient, as well as your level of anxiety, nervousness, or phobia of dental care. Many people avoid going to the dentist because they have a strong gag reflex, are afraid that it will hurt, or have had traumatic dental experiences in the past. Avoiding the dentist puts your oral health in jeopardy, which could have a negative impact on your overall health. At Beacon Dental Group, we offer anesthesia options so that you can receive outstanding, comfortable dentistry.

For advanced cases, we work with experts in the community who are specially trained in the safe administration of IV sedation. Our network of professionals strives to ensure every patient receives excellent care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Types of Anesthesia

During your consultation, Dr. Oji will discuss your anesthesia options with you. Together, you will determine the right choice to ensure a comfortable and positive dental experience. We offer:

  • Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas). This form of anesthesia is safely inhaled through a mask that fits over your nose. It is not intended to put you to sleep, but rather calm you and put you in a more relaxed state. You will be able to hear and communicate with your dentist, and the effects wear off as soon as the mask is removed.
  • Local Anesthesia. This anesthesia is injected directly into the specified area to numb it. Patients typically feel a small pinch of the needle at first, but after about 60 seconds, the area will be numb and treatment will be much more comfortable. An added benefit to local anesthesia is that it provides pain relief to that area until it wears off, which leads to additional comfort.
